Sterzing, where shopping becomes an experience
Lines of colourful town houses with ornate bay windows and – right in the middle – the iconic Zwölferturm tower. Sterzing is a town rich in history and cultural heritage. From shops and boutiques to the Multscher Museum and excellent restaurants, Italy’s northernmost town offers plenty of delights wrapped in Alpine flair.

Shopping in the historical centre
Stylish Italian fashion and leatherware, South Tyrolean handicrafts and apparel, fine home accessories and… delicious gelato. A spot of shopping in the picturesque centre of Sterzing is always a rewarding experience.

Our tip: the farmers’ market in Sterzing
The farmers’ market on the town square is a beloved “hunting ground” for locals and visitors alike. Browse through the stalls for homemade Speck bacon and cheese, herbs and honey from local farmers and a variety of other interesting products. Be sure to taste the traditional Krapfen and Tirtln, freshly prepared by the farmers’ wives.

The gourmet side of Sterzing
Whether you’re after South Tyrolean speciality, authentic Italian pizza from a wood-fired oven or an exclusive, Michelin-starred dinner, the restaurants and inns in Sterzing will not disappoint. The town’s calendar also includes several events with a strong culinary side such as the Sterzing Lantern Parties, the Yogurt Festival and the Sterzing Knödel festival.

Mt. Rosskopf – the sun-kissed outdoor area
From the town centre to the mountain in just ten minutes: Mt. Rosskopf is Sterzing’s sunny outdoor area and is easily reached by gondola straight from the town centre. In summer, it offers family-friendly hiking trails and idyllic alpine pastures, while in winter, it attracts visitors with a variety of ski slopes and one of the longest toboggan runs in Italy.

The Sterzing Christmas market
Be enchanted by the sound of bells against the romantic backdrop of the Zwölferturm tower, where the Sterzing Christmas market with its colourful stalls and enticing events spreads joy to all. Don’t miss the bell concert at the tower!
